Jimmy Barboza Obituary

Jimmy Lee Barboza, 20, of Midland was called home to be with the Lord on Monday, March 09, 2009.

He was born on April 24, 1988 in Odessa, TX. Jimmy Lee worked for Boomerang Sweeping Co. a job that he truly enjoyed. Throughout his life he also enjoyed skateboarding, reading, listening to music, and spending time with friends and family, but most of all he absolutely loved spending time with his two children. Jimmy Lee was first and foremost a loving and caring father, his children were his world. His curiosity often got the best of him at times, but he lived life to the fullest. He was a free spirit that left a lasting impression on the lives that he touched. He was so full of love and admiration, and would not think twice about lending a helping hand. He had a great sense of humor and was very strong willed. The most important quality that he had was that he was a fighter. He would not give up until he was good and ready.

He is survived by his two children, son Jayden Alexander Barboza and daughter Savannah Marie Barboza of Midland, parents Roland and Margie Barboza, Grandmother Rita Barboza, Sisters Kelly Grantham and husband Stan Grantham of Midland, Lory Barboza and husband James Maxwell of Midland, as well as several other siblings that reside in the Texas area. He is also survived by his niece Madison Maxwell and nephew Ryan Maxwell of Midland, and several other nieces and nephews. Also he is survived by aunt, Susanne Sullivan and uncle, Anthony Sullivan and cousin Samantha Sullivan as well as several other aunts and uncles and cousins throughout Texas.

He is preceded in death by his maternal grandmother Virginia Granado who is his guardian angel, and maternal grandfather Felix, Granado, his paternal grandfather Antonio Barboza, and brother John George Barboza.

Evening service will be held on Wednesday, March 11, 2009 at 7 p.m. at Lewallen-Garcia-Pipkin Chapel. Funeral service is set for Thursday, March 12, 2009 at 3 p.m. at Lewallen-Garcia-Pipkin Chapel. Interment will follow to Serenity Memorial Gardens.

Baby brother,
I will miss you so much, but I know deep in my heart that you are in a much better place. I have cried everyday, wishing you had more time to be with me. When I saw you in that bed I would of done anything to take your pain away. But you knew it was your time and you gave us a week of your time to say our goodbyes and let you go. I have accepted your passing but it is extremely hard. I promise you baby brother that I will take care of your children to the best of my ability and keep your memory alive through them. I love you so very much and I know that you will always be with me. Love your Sister Lory
