John Ornelas Obituary

John "Johnny" M. Ornelas, Jr., 65, of Stanton, died Wednesday Oct. 13 in Midland. Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday Oct. 16 at St. Joseph Catholic Church with the Rev. Thomas Vempala officiating. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery. Rosary will be 7:30 p.m. today Oct. 15 at St. Joseph Catholic Church.

He was born April 23, 1939 in San Angelo. He married Mary Briseno Dec. 21, 1968 in Stanton and served in the U.S. Army. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church.

He is survived by his wife; his mother, Lydia Moya of San Angelo; two sons, John Ornelas of Lubbock and Alex Ornelas of San Antonio; one daughter, Jeanette Ortega of Euless; five sisters, Mary Cardona of San Angelo, Sobeyda Diaz of Escondido, Calif., Irene Bruno and Suzie Dominguez, both of Madras, Ore., and Carmen Torres of Carrollton; a brother, Roberto Cardona of Oklahoma; and two grandchildren.

Services are under the direction of Stanton Memorial Funeral Home and Chapel.
