06/12/1945 - 02/08/2025
Funeral Services will be at Our Lady Guadlalupe church at 2pm on Tuesday February 25th 2025. 1401 Garden Lane Midland Texas. followed by a graveside burial. Jose Costilla also known as Joe, Grandpa and Chey by his loved ones was number 7 out of 10 children born to Jose Costilla Sr and Maria Fuentes Costilla. He married Dora Garibay and fathered two children Eliosa and Frankie. He traveled in his younger years with his brother Guero. On one of their trips he decided to take a course to learn to fix industrial air compressors. He lived most of his days in Midland where he met Wanda May Chambers. He spent many years with Wanda working as a compressor mechanic and became common law married to her until she passed away. During his years with Wanda he helped her raise her grand daughter Candis and became close to her daughter Donna Chambers as her step dad. After Wanda passed away he continued to help Donna in raising Candis as her father figure in her life. He taught Candis many things including how to ride a bike and play pool. Candis married Ardis Barron where Joe walked her down the isle at their ceremony. Candis and Ardis had 3 kids who became Joses joy in life. They saw him and knew him as their grandpa. He would spend every day around Justice, Skydon and Soren as well as Donna his step dauhter Candis his grand daughter and her husband Ardis. He went to every birthday party and always made sure Donna, Candis and his great grand kids were taken care of. Jose loved beef stew made every year by Candis for his birthday and letting his great grandson Soren blow out his candles for him. The picture on the front is of him staring at Soren as he blew his grandpas candles out. He loved spending time outside with his great grandkids and with Soren jumping on the trampoline. Skydon remembers always playing with his grandpa and then going inside for hot dogs. He loved watching westerns, football and boxing with his step daughter Donna. Jose is survived by his children eloisa and Frankie, his step children Donna, Gary, and Michael, his granddauhter Candis and her husband Ardis, his great grandkids Justice, Skydon and Soren as well as his brother Johnny , sisters Beatrice, Inez, Rosalinda and Jolanda. Preceding Jose in death is his father Jose Sr, his mother Maria, his step children Kevin, Ronnie, Bruce. and Larry, his sister Suelema(Sammy), and brothers Ceferino(Quero), Tony and Jesus (Quate). Sorrow fills our hearts and we miss him dearly but we know time will ease the pain. Memories of him already bring smiles to our faces. We are comforted knowing that he is in Heaven and that we will be reunited one day. Until then we will keep his memory alive in our hearts.
