Linda Brown Obituary

Linda Wilcox Brown Linda Wilcox Brown, age 83, of Midland, Texas, passed away on Friday, May 20, 2022. A private family service will be held on Sunday, May 29, 2022. Linda was born March 31, 1939, in Dallas, Texas to Curtis O. and Ida Kathleen Wilcox. She grew up in San Antonio, Texas, along with her beloved brother Bob, attending Jefferson High School before heading off to college at Baylor University. While at Baylor she met, and after graduation, married the love of her life, husband Johnnie B. Brown. They made many close friends at Baylor, who remained a major part of their entire adult lives. They travelled to Europe, sailed the Caribbean, hunted dove in Argentina, fly fished in the flats of Ascension Bay and the cool waters of the Taylor River, deer hunted in Frio County, and enjoyed many nice trips to the lower Laguna Madre and Port Mansfield. She also loved to travel to New England with her cousins, and their favorite uncle, Dr. E. Burke Evans of Galveston, Texas. Linda loved her two sons and daughters in law, J. Mark Brown and Holly Green and W. Craig and Allison Brown. She also adored her five granddaughters: Anna, Sara, Emma, Abby and Avery Brown, who lovingly called her Mimi. Linda had a strong faith and enjoyed fellowship with the members of Cornerstone Community Church. She also loved the friendship shared with the kind women of her lady's Bible study group. When she was no longer able to attend services, she appreciated the frequent visits of her church friends. Thank you to the many great people of Midland who loved our Mom for so many years, and the staff and friends at Manor Park, specifically the Vogel unit who cared for her so dearly. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to Teen Challenge of Midland. Arrangements are under the direction of Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home. Online condolence may be made at www.npwelch.com.

My son Keith told me of your loss of Linda. She was a very special person, smart, beautiful, fun. She and Johnnie lived across the hall from us in the big house on 5th Street when Fred and Johnnie were in law school. Those were special times with wonderful memories.
Love to you all,
Princess Cameron
