Louisa Garza Obituary

Louisa Garza, 91, passed on to a better life on September 13, 2016. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. on September 17, 2016 at the First Baptist Church in Stanton, with Pastor Baldemar Gonzales officiating. Interment will follow at Evergreen Cemetery in Stanton. The family will receive friends Friday September 16, 2016 from 5:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. at the Stanton Memorial Funeral Home and Chapel. Louisa was born October 20, 1924 to Juan and Josefa Chapa in Beeville. She married the love of her life, Adolfo Garza, June 28, 1940 in Corpus Christi. They were married 75 wonderful years. Louisa and Adolfo took a job at Menard Baptist Camp, now known as Camp Menard, overseeing and maintaining the grounds to the camp. They later came to Stanton and owned a restaurant in the 80s known as Louisa's Restaurant. She loved playing cards, dominoes, and cooking, especially for family. She was a member of Iglesia Bautista Calvario in Stanton. The most important things in life were her family. She is preceded in death by her husband, Adolfo Garza, Sr.; three infant children, Ruben Mary Lou, and Diana; and by her siblings. She is survived by her daughter, Mary Jane Gonzalez and husband Joe of Stanton; two sons, Pat Garza of Albuquerque, New Mexico and Adolph Garza and wife Sarah of Stanton; 10 grandchildren, Mark Gonzalez and wife Amanda, Miranda Hinojosa, Chris Garza and wife Tara, Stacie Garza, Bree Ann Garza, Brittani Gomez and husband Jason, Eric Garza and wife Erin, Monica Garza, Tiffani Diaz and husband Anthony, and Alicia Perez and husband Matt; and by 26 great-grandchildren and 10 great-great-grandchildren. The family suggests memorials to the Martin County Senior Citizens Center, P.O. Box 1233, Stanton, Texas 79782. Pallbearers are Mark Gonzalez, Chris Garza, Eric Garza, Mark Gonzalez, II, Jason Gomez, Matt Brazill, and Anthony Diaz.

Mary Jane, Pat and Adolph,
I am so sorry for the loss of your sweet Mother. Your family has been friends with mine for many, many years, and her loss makes us all sad.
