Marian Mussett Obituary
12/20/1927 - 05/16/2024
Marian Mosley Mussett went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and to be reunited with her late husband, Jack Douglas Mussett and grandson Jack David Mussett on May 16, 2024, in Midland, Texas, at the age of 96. She was born on December 20, 1927, to Ben and Bess Mosley, in Russellville, Arkansas. She is survived by Jan Book and husband Frank; sons Dave Mussett and wife Sherry; and Doug Mussett and wife Cathy; grandchildren Lisa Nguyen, Danelle Kemp, Ryan Mussett, Jordan Mussett, Tony Martinez and Mitchell Martinez, 15 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. Marian grew up and attended college in Fort Smith, Arkansas. She married Jack Mussett September 4, 1949 and supported his career as a geologist for Gulf Oil and later as an independent geologist where they raised their family in many locations including Hobbs, NM and Midland, TX. Marian was an impressive seamstress. She made herself a satin and lace wedding dress, and her daughter's clothing including a velveteen wedding dress, Marian loved to golf, travel and square dance. Her charming wit and competitiveness made for many fond memories of card games and gatherings. Marian and her husband created the Mr. and Mrs. Jack D. Mussett Disciples Scholarship Fund at Texas Christian University, Fort Worth, Texas and the Jack D. Mussett Scholarship Fund at the University Church and participated in the Christian Women's Fellowship and was also a Sunday school teacher. Marian transferred to Memorial Christian Church upon moving to Midland. She was a current member of the First Christian Church and enjoyed helping their food pantry.

A sweet, sweet neighbor for 16 years. Not only a neighbor but a wonderful friend to boot. She liked the best out of life and sought. Tenacious to a "t" and appreciative as the days are sometimes long. I will so miss her advice and her instructions on what I should have been doing. My life has been enriched by her friendship and love
