Michael Hamilton Obituary
Michael Edward Hamilton, 56, of Grape Creek passed away Saturday, March 8, 2008 at his home.
He was born on September 20, 1951 in Ruidoso, New Mexico to William E. and Virginia M. Smith Hamilton. He married Twila Robbins, March 9, 1991 in San Angelo. Mike has worked in the oil field since 1991, working the same wells for five different owners. He broke and rode horses for Dink Sanders of Water Valley, was a jockey in Brady and Hot Springs, Arkansas, and a bull rider in his younger days. He was also a hot oil driver for Dan Johnson where he survived a truck explosion in the 80's and San Angelo By Products. He held many diverse jobs but his favorite was oil field pumper.
He loved sharing stories and helping people.
He is preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Chris of Arizona. Mike is survived by his wife, Twila of the home; two daughters, Susan of Angleton, TX and Theresa and husband, Tim Nichols of Kingwood, TX; a son, Tommy Robbins of Independence, MO; three granddaughters, Heather DeWall of Kingwood, Christina DeWall of Amarillo and Joy Nichols of Kingwood; a sister, Debbie Krause and husband, Ron of Rooselvelt, AZ; a brother, Roy Hamilton of AZ; sisters-in-law, Ruby Penn of Midland and Una Faye Osborne of Krum, TX; numerous cousins, nephews, nieces and the best neighbors and friends, Elaine and Dicky Jones, Roy and Karen Martin, and Joe and Carmen Arsipe.
The family would like to express deepest appreciation to Dr. Conway, Michelle and staff and Dr. Arap and nurse Pat of MD Anderson Hospital in Houston for giving us extra months. In addition, thank you for all the prayers that were offered up to help Mike battle his prostrate cancer.
Memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, March 12, 2008 at Shaffer Funeral Home's Pioneer Chapel, 8009 Hwy 87 North, San Angelo, TX. Services are under direction of Shaffer Funeral Home.
Mike asked that memorials be sent to Hospice of San Angelo and National MS Society.
A good man has gone too soon to meet his maker and will be greatly missed.
