Paul Joseph Hernandez Sr.

Paul Joseph Hernandez, Sr. Paul Joseph Hernandez, Sr. passed away Wednesday, July 21, 2010 at his home in Katy, TX at the age of 81. He was born April 9, 1929 in Birimingham, AL to Lillian Louise Tremoulet and Emile Paul Hernandez, Jr. The oldest of six, his family soon moved to New Orleans, LA, where he lived out his childhood. He attend Jesuit in New Orleans and LSU in Baton Rouge, LA. He served in the Marine Reserves and the National Guard. In 1952 he married Anne Marie Bartlett and bagan their 58 year marriage together. He made his living as a homebuilder for several years in New Orleans, Thibodeaux and several cities in Texas. He moved his family of six children to Texas in 1971, though he loved New Orleans he grew to love Texas as well. He loved sports of all kinds but he had a heavy heart for his LSU Tigers and New Orleans Saints. He was on top of the world when they won the Super Bowl this year. Paul was preceded in death by his parents and his beloved sister Jean. He is survived by his wife Anne, his daughters Peggy Kuss and her husband, Charles of Midland, Texas; daughter Jeanne Strickland and her husband Shannon of Tomball, Texas; daughter Betty Gibson and her husband Don of Conroe, Texas; daughter Pat Lowe and her husband Jeff of Morgantown, WV; daughter Marion Harris and her husband Johnny of Katy, Texas; his son Paul, Jr. and his wife Barbara of Houston, Texas. The thirteen grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren that he adored so deeply will truely miss him. A memorial mass is scheduled for 10:00, Saturday, July 24, 2010 at Epiphany Catholic Church in Katy, TX. The family ask that in lieu of flowers, donations can be made to MISD Education Foundation, P.O. Box 73, Midland, TX 79702, St. Judes's, Texas Children's Hospital or a charity of your choice.
