Jaquez,Rene Jr. A man who would rather run the risk of wearing out, rather than rusting out. A dear friend, who would do what he said, meant what he said, and was what he seemed, true indeed.R.I.P

Ray was one of the funnest people to hang out with. I met Ray in 1999 and never had a dull moment when he was around. I would go with friends to his apartment and if I had a bad day Ray would play Me & Bobby Mcgee by Janic Joplin because he knew no matter what mood I was in I would sing my heart out when I heard it and he would sing with me.
I remember how excited he was when he became a father, I told him he was going to be the best father ever.
I moved from Midland and lost touch with Ray. I searched high and low and could never contact him . I asked old friends that ran in the same circle and they too knew nothing.
My mother called the other day and said "baby, I think you need to read the Midland paper" she too knew Ray. She was the manager of the apartment Ray lived in. I contacted a friend in Midland, Brent Atkins and asked him to please find out for me, please tell me this wasnt the Ray we knew.
I am very sad that I lost touch with Ray and wasnt able to see him again. My prayers go out to his family in this time of loss. Ray was a wonderful man and will be missed by many.

I have included a picture. It was my 21st birthday. My boyfriends sister (at the time) and I went to his place before we went out partying, Ray says as we walk out the door "call if yall need a ride". He was so caring to all those who surrounded him!
