Robert Crain Obituary

Robert 'Bob' Crain, 58, of Midland, passed away Friday, January 9, 2009. The family will receive friends at Ellis Funeral Home Monday, January 12, 2009 between the hours of 5:00 P.M. and 7:00 P.M. Funeral services will be held 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, January 13, 2009 at Ellis Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park in Midland.

Bob was born on August 25, 1950 to Allen and Kathryn Crain in Hobbs, NM. Bob graduated from Texas Tech University with a Bachelor's degree in Business and Accounting in 1982. He was the President of the Southwest Lighthouse for the Blind in Lubbock, Texas from 1982-1993. From 1983-1997 Bob worked as a Mud Logger for Advanced Consultants. My Community Federal Credit Union has been Bob's home for the last 10yrs, where he served as the Manager of Special Projects.

He is survived by two brothers; James and Allen Crain of Midland; one sister, Carol DeVault and husband Mike of El Dorado, AR; one niece, Courtney Allen and her son Cooper Allen of Midland; and one nephew, Christopher Crain of Dallas.

Bob was a huge football fan, avid hunter, golfer, and Nascar fan. He loved spending time with his friends and family who will dearly miss his great since of humor and infectious laugh.

Bob was such a great person to be around, I enjoyed his sarcastic humor and his kindness. Just heard of his passing today, my condolencses to Bob's family and everyone at My Community. He will certainly be missed.

We got to know Bob when we got account with the bank where he work , he was allways so helpful and kind to us. I was so sad to hear of his death, he will greatly miss in so many ways. We allways look forward to seeing him when we were in the bank or drive up window. Our prayers and thought are with the family and friends of him.
