Ruth Attaway Obituary

Ruth Elaine Attaway, 71 passed away on Saturday, March 31, 2018 in Midland,Texas. There are no services scheduled at this time. Ruth was born on April 2, 1946 to Gladys and Roy Hearon in Ardmore, OK. Ruth will be remembered for her fun-loving spirit, wonderful sense of humor, infectious laugh, and her love of gospel music. She enjoyed anything sung by the Gaither vocal band. Ruth was a talented musician, playing the piano beautifully. Ruth sang with a group called Spirit of Salvation. In her apartment complex, she was known for playing gospel hymns on the piano in the dining area and telling others about Jesus. Even during her last days, she was seen sharing her love of Jesus with hospital staff. Ruth worked as a bookkeeper at several different places in Midland: MTCU, Conoco Credit Union, Acme, and Heritage USA. Ruth is survived by her siblings, Patricia Adams and husband Ken, Mary Barbour of Gardendale, Dub Hearon and wife Jo of Ohio, and Herb Hearon and wife Linda of El Paso. She also has several nieces and nephews that she loved dearly. She is preceded in death by her parents, Gladys and Roy Hearon and brother, Roy Hearon Jr. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be donated to Hospice of Midland. Arrangements are under the direction of Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home & Crematory of Midland. Online condolences can be made at www.npwelch.com.
