Sanford Kendrick Obituary

Sanford "Sandy" Kendrick, 70, passed away on July 19, 2011, after a long illness. He was born August 6, 1940, in El Paso, Texas. He was a "proud" Texan all of his life. He served his country, with honors, in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. His career was spent in the oil industry doing seismic readings for future oil development projects. Not only did he work all over the United States, but also Columbia, Venezuela, and Canada. After retiring, he became very interested in woodworking, and enjoyed creating beautiful pieces for himself, family and friends. He was an avid hunter and fisherman, who loved the outdoors. He was always proud to show his spirit for his favorite football teams, which consisted of the Dallas Cowboys, University of Texas Longhorns, and the Permian Mojo Panthers. Sandy is survived by his wife, Jayne; son, Lance; stepdaughter, Kristina; and mother, Darlene. He was also survived by two sisters and one brother, with numerous grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. Memorial services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, July 25, 2011, at the Nalley-Pickle & Welch Chapel, with military honors to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Hospice of Midland. Arrangements are under the direction of Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home & Crematory of Midland. Online condolences can be made at www.npwelch.com.

I am so sorry for your loss. Sandy and I had some great times together many years ago in Pecos. He and I and Royce Cassell and Tom Turk went to Monterey Mexico together and spent a week and had a blast. Again my condolences.
