Steve was my cousin and he used to come to Austin regularly for the Texas relays and the aqua fest. These are times we would get together and sometimes they included his brother Dicky as well. Spending time with them at Schultz's garden with them knowing so many people, made me look up to him in more than just one way. I saw him on the sidelines at a OU game once, I was a little fellow then and Steve was so big.

I have lost contact with a lot of Crane people. I just happened upon this and was saddened to hear of Moose passing. Moose always had something pleasant to say to everyone he came in contact with. My prayers are with the Pendelton family. I would like to hear from anyone from Crane. I miss the Crane family.

I am so sorry for you loss. I remember Steve (Moose) from Crane many years ago. My brother, Alan and Steve were friends, as well. He always came into my grandparents house, smiling and laughing. He will be missed. God Bless you all who he leaves behind. Susan Haught Cole, San Angelo, Texas

I have not seen Steve in a while but I will always remember him as one of the nicest guys around. My condolences to the family. We were both salesmen in Midland in the 80s & 90s many good times together. A very kind man never met a stranger.

I will always remember Steve as the 'bratty boy next door' who was friends with my younger brother and the two ganged up on me. I remember chasing him around the yard and having rock throwing fights with Steve laughing all the way. Later in life, he gave the best bear hugs and lit up the room with his smile followed by his booming laugh. Will miss you Big Guy!

We'll sure miss a great friend! You always knew Steve was around when you heard that laugh. Our world is a lot less happy without him. We'll miss him but let's remember all the fun he brought into our lives!

Steve or as he would rather I called him "Moose" was pretty much a fixture at our house from the time we moved to Crane in 1961 until he and my brother Buddy graduated high school in 1971. He was family to the Ward family, a true brother.Mankind has been on this earth for thousands and will I hope for thousand more but there will never be another Moose. He will never be duplicated. My greatest condolences go to the family.
Love you big guy.

From the time i was a teenager on the golf course to my wedding and through the last 19 years, Steve Pendleton was one of the most kind and generous man one could ever know. Rob and i have so many amazing memories with Big Steve that may or may not have included grape koolaid and Crown Royal or gin and tonic. You will forever be in our hearts and our memories! God bless Shirley and the rest of the Pendleton clan as they navigate through this difficult time. I am pretty sure he is upstairs playing a little golf and entertaining his foursome right about now!

"MOOSE"----I wish we had not lost contact with you the past few years. You was always so much fun to be around, always had that beautiful smile on your face, and that laugh! Oh, that laugh! We shared so many good times together (and a few sad) but most of them happy! You was a BIG man, but your heart was even BIGGER, You was always there to listen when I needed a friend. We have so many wonderful memories that will live in our hearts forever! Robbie and I will miss you greatly! Shirley, you are in our thoughts and prayers.
