Judith Anne Collins Blevins — Judy would like to let you know that her work here is done. She received a call, a sort of an offer you can't refuse, for an appointment from which she will not be returning. This New Assignment comes with a huge sign-on bonus, a reunion with family, friends (human and furry) she has not seen in a very long time. In the position, job security is exactly 110 percent. Her new mission takes her to a wonderful place where she will be socializing….again…human and cats, dogs. potbellied pigs, horses, etc…dancing.., gardening….well maybe some, but more likely fishing and, reading…particularly, now that I don't have to contend with that nasty damage caused by my stroke. I just might get back into horseback riding and barrel racing….wonder if Romy is up here yet, Or I can try to find Lorrie and see is she wants to be friends up here. Certainly didn't seem to down there. Food is delicious; up here calories don't count so I plan to enjoy Caramel Frappuccino every day..maybe even for breakfast. The weather…balmy, sunny, cloudless days and the stars and moon at night are awesome…just wait until you see. Instructions….detailed instructions, were left with Bridgett (Michael Puckett) and Christopher, aka "Bubba" (Terri Blevins) and their children, Alisha, Cidney, Baley, Dustin, Shyanne, Maeghan and Maddison. Faye, Emerson (Chinky) and Marty know that Betty, Kay and I will be keeping an eye on you. I know I got into a bit of mischief from time to time, but it was Mostly all in good fun. Judy, we want you to know that you did a great job and we wish you a safe journey, We will remember the twinkle in your eyes…appearing as you initiated or got included in a bit of mischief. Your teaching moments, followed by loving forgiveness. Your love of life and sharing all sorts of experiences with your family….swim and track meets, softball and baseball games, dance recitals, quick trips for a special treat, hanging out at the beach…always young at heart. You worked very hard all you life, making a tremendous difference in the lives of many. In your role in the Mount Airy Rescue Squad, you pushed yourself to achieve in ways you didn't believe possible. At Forsyth County Animal Control, you lead by example. Training so many individuals not only in the day to day administrative duties, customer service and the care of animals in the care of FCAC. You were known for your ability to charm the most vicious of Chihuahuas or cats. Yes you were known by many as the Chihuahua/Cat lady. Once you retired, health issues took much of your attention. After battling with breast cancer in 1999, it returned in 2016. Then came heart problems and a stroke…and most recently lung cancer. Your last radiation treatment was completed; just one more chemo treatment and this round of cancer fighting was to be behind you. But that was not to be, once infection set into your bloodstream and your lung stopped working, the cards were stacked against you. Or was it?…Your Father was ready for you to come home and enjoy a well deserved rest…pain free. So today, you were taken home. As Family and friends were saying goodbyes….did you really send us a message that you were watching us… by .playing "God Only Knows Why". We believe that was the case. We family members invite all friends of Judy also known as….("Potsy", "Nana", "Mother", "Woman") to join us in a Celebration of her life, Celebration of the completion of her earthly mission is to filled with the recollection of happy, fun filled memories by family and friends of all ages. A Celebration of Life Service will take place on Sunday, January 14 2018, at 2 p.m. at Flat Rock Ruritan Club, 1070 Linville Road, Mount Airy, NC.
