Margaret Ann Henry Hiatt, 85, of Mount Airy, passed away Saturday, Feb. 11, 2023, at the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson. She was born in Warren County, Virginia, on Dec. 25, 1937, to the late Archie Painter and Grace Walker Henry. Mrs. Hiatt worked many years at the Dairy Center before she retired from Sears and was a member of Lambsburg Baptist Church. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother who will be dearly missed. She is survived by her husband, Fredrick Harrold Hiatt Sr.; sons and daughters-in-law, Bobby Williams and Donna, Freddy Hiatt Jr. and Carlene, Chuck Hiatt and Tonya, Todd Hiatt and Karen, Mark Hiatt and Casey; 26 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; a sister and brother-in-law, Joan Holloway and Billy; sister-in-law, Dr. Hazel Jessee; a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Ledford Hiatt and Dianah; many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Hiatt was preceded in death by a grandchild, Jodi Saffelle. A graveside service will be held Tuesday, Feb. 14, at 10 a.m. at Skyline Memory Gardens with the Rev. Isreal Easter officiating. There will not be a formal visitation at the funeral home. The family would like to give a special thank you to the staff of Mountain Valley Hospice, the staff of Northern Regional Hospital, her special caregivers, Dale Chess, Mr. and Mrs. Luke Holyfield, and Susan Stanley for the love and care given to Margaret. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Mountain Valley Hospice, 1427 Edgewood Dr., Mount Airy, NC 27030. Moody Funeral Services in Mount Airy is serving the Hiatt family.
