Mary Blackburn gained her entrance to Heaven on Friday, Dec. 14, 2018. She was born on Dec. 31, 1945. Her life reached too many to tell or ever know while here on this earth. The family is so honored to have been able to share her with so many through the years. Her love for her work with special needs children and adults was second only to her great love for her Heavenly Father. To all who called her Mema (by blood or not) she loved you and prayed many prayers for you. Her desire was for you all to meet her at Heaven's gate. Her request was for us to celebrate her life and never mourn for her. With that in mind the family will be having a celebration of life service for all that wish to join. It will be held on Saturday, Dec. 22, at 2 p.m. at Fancy Gap Penticostal Holiness Church, 1975 Paul's Creek Road in Cana, Virginia. Mary Blackburn is survived by two sons, Ricky Key and his girlfriend Kim Prough, Dale Key; one daughter, Kimberly Blackburn; seven grandchildren, Anthony Key, Samantha Swiney, Tabatha Key, Christopher Key and wife Ashly, Caitlin Key, Charity Moore and husband Bryson, Patience Blackburn and special grandson Johnathan Prough; nine great-grandchildren, Braylen Moore, Colton Moore, Preston Moore, Violet Moore, Lizabelle Moore, Shelley Swiney, Olivia Knott, Benjamin Key and Elijah Key. She was preceded in death by her mother, Sarah Cromer; father, Luther Herman Frye; three brothers, Red Frye, Shorty Frye, Walter Frye; two husbands, Bobby Key and Calvin Blackburn Jr.; and a special grandson Trevor Prough.

I know Ms Mary's light is shining down on us way brighter than any we could light for her. Anyone who was fortunate enough to have met her even once it's certainly blessed for it. She was a wonderful person. Thinking of you and your family Kim
