Phillip Bryant Hall, 86, of Mount Airy, passed away at the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home Tuesday, April 13, 2021. He was born in Surry County, Jan, 3, 1935, to the late Thomas Leonard and Doris Agnes Monday Hall. Mr. Hall was a caring father, grandfather, and friend. He was an avid golfer, and also enjoyed woodworking, hunting, and playing guitar as long as his health permitted. He was a faithful member of Holy Angels Catholic Church. Mr. Hall worked for many years with Lynn Hosiery before leaving to work at White Pines Country Club to fulfill his passion for golf. Mr. Hall is survived by his sons and daughters-in-law, Scott Hall, Tony and Fonda Hall, Dale and Barbara Hall, grandchildren and spouses, Cody and Courtney Hall, Kyle and Jordan Hall, Matthew and Savannah Hall; step-great-grandchild and wife, Shane and Kei Wall; five great-grandchildren; three step-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Mr. Hall was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia Busick Hall; sisters and a brother-in-law, Barbara Hall, and Mary Gertrude and Lewis Martin; and brothers and sisters-in-law, Carroll and Violet Hall, and Gary and Mary Lou Hall; and a step-grandson, T.C. Wall. A funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, April 18, at Holy Angels Catholic Church with Father Larry Heiney officiating. Burial will follow at Oakdale Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church from 2 p.m. until the time of the service. Flowers will be accepted, or memorial contributions may be made to the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home, 945 Zephyr Rd. Dobson, NC 27017. The family would like to express their deepest appreciation to the staff of the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home for the wonderful care given to Mr. Hall during his illness.
