Mrs. Rebecca Jean Jones Throckmorton, 77, of 160 Dover Church Road, Mount Airy, passed away Friday afternoon, October 2, 2015, at the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson. Mrs. Throckmorton was born February 1, 1938, in Surry County, the daughter of the late Posey Lester and Maymie Adeline Terrell Jones. Rebecca retired from Surry County Department of Social Services after 38 years of service and was a charter member of Dover Baptist Church. She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Bobby Philip Throckmorton of the home; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Ben and Karen Throckmorton of Bolivia and Phil Throckmorton of Linwood; and a granddaughter, Anna Throckmorton of Bolivia. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Throckmorton was preceded in death by a sister, Judith Ann Jones Badgett. The funeral service will be held Monday, October 5, 2015, at 2:00 PM at Dover Baptist Church, with Dewey Teal officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. There will not be a formal visitation at the funeral home or church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home, 945 Zephyr Road, Dobson, NC 27017. Moody Funeral Services in Mount Airy is serving the family. Hi Bobby and Family. I am so sorry to learn of Beckys death. She was one of the finest employees I ever had the pleasure to work with. She had so much life and enjoyed her family and friends. I will keep you in my prayers. I worked with her from 1960 thru 1967.
