WINSTON-SALEM — Mr. Richard Tracy Monday, 70, of Winston-Salem, passed away Friday, April 27, 2018, at The N.C. State Veterans Home in Salisbury. He was born in Carroll County, VA, February 25, 1948, to the late Ophir and Nonnie Hudson Monday. Mr. Monday bravely served in the U.S. Marines, serving two tours of duty in Vietnam. He retired as a correctional officer from Forsyth County. Mr. Monday is survived by his brothers, Junior Monday and wife Jo, and Arthur Monday and wife Deena; a niece, LeAnn Pickett and husband, Josh; nephews, Daniel Monday and wife Kelly, Donald Blanchard and wife, Danielle, Earl Blanchard and wife Jessica, Matthew Monday, and Cody Monday. A graveside memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 5, 2018, at Flower Gap Primitive Baptist Church with Rev. Gary Easter officiating. Full Military honors will be conducted by VFW Post 7726.
