Beverly LeProwse Obituary

Beverly Jean LeProwse

November 23, 1947 - August 21, 2025

Born on November 23, 1947, Bev grew up with a lifelong love of learning and curiosity that would shape her life and the lives of those around her. She graduated from the University of Montana Western with a degree in education and devoted her career to teaching. She began her teaching years in Ryegate, Mont., where she touched countless young lives with patience, encouragement, and a passion for knowledge. She later continued her career in Granger, Wyo., where she finished her years in the classroom before retiring.

Outside of teaching, Bev led a full and active life enriched by her many interests. An avid golfer and skilled pinochle player, she enjoyed friendly competition as much as the companionship it brought. She belonged to several book clubs, where she delighted in exchanging ideas, and she pursued the arts through drawing and painting classes. She also stayed active with water aerobics and shared her time generously by volunteering at the Lady of the Rockies. A lifelong learner, she was known for her collections, curiosities, and her endless desire to explore new ideas and experiences.

Bev will be remembered for her generous spirit, her inquisitive mind, and her devotion to family. She treasured her time with loved ones and always made her family a priority.

Bev is survived by her brother, Jim (Barbara) LeProwse; and her sister, Margaret (Jim) Strauss; along with a large extended family including many nieces and nephews and many special friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Archie and Helen LeProwse; sister, Ruth Brown; and brothers, Bill (wife, Loise), Bob, Tom (wife, Joan) and Albert LeProwse.

Bev's life was one of kindness, generosity, and curiosity, and her presence will be deeply missed by all who knew her. The celebration of life services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, October 4th, at Aldersgate United Methodist Church, 1621 Thornton Ave, Butte, MT 59701.

Yesterday

Bev and I were friends since elementary school at Emerson. We often walked home from Junior high and High School together. I learned to golf from Bev and we played softball together for many years. Winning a State Championship and traveling to a national tournament were fond memories. Bev was a dynamic third baseman. I just saw Bev again at the YMcA. May she rest in peace.
