Christopher Joseph Mehring, 56, of Dillon, passed away on Tuesday November 2nd,2021, of complications from COVID.
Chris was born November 19th, 1964, in Butte to Leroy and Bessie Jo Mehring. He was one of 7 children. Growing up Chris enjoyed playing baseball, basketball and football. His love for the outdoors began when he was young through hunting and fishing. He attended elementary school in Butte and graduated from Twin Bridges High School. Chris then went on to attend Western Montana College and graduated with a degree in Secondary Education.
In 1988 he married Wendy, the love of his life, in Anaconda. Chris and Wendy lived in Dillon. In 1989 they welcomed their first child, Alyssa, and in 1993 they welcomed their son Bud (Darrin). Chris and Wendy enjoyed time outdoors with their kids; fishing, hunting and camping. The highlight of his life was his 3 grandkids Payton, Parker and Penelope (Paislee). Words cannot describe the love he had for his grandkids. He loved to take the kids fishing and hunting. Chris loved to watch Payton and Parker play sports. He had a passion for sports and attended every sporting event he could find. He loved to play softball, basketball and golf with his numerous friends. He had a strong work ethic and enjoyed his job. Chris took pride in his work at RE Miller & Sons where he worked for over 30 years. Chris donated his time and effort in helping to better the community of Dillon.
He is preceded in death by his mother Bessie Jo Mehring, his maternal grandparents John and Mae Moyle, and his paternal grandparents Roy and Esmerelda Mehring. He is survived by his wife Wendy, his children Alyssa (Casey) Trimble, and Bud (Kate) Mehring, his grandchildren Payton, Parker and Paislee, his father Leroy Mehring, his siblings Mark, Becky (Paul), Susan (Andy), Jill (Chad), Cynthia (Chris), Anthony (Megan) and numerous nieces and nephews and great nieces and great nephews.
A Celebration of Life will be held at The St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Dillon on Saturday November 20th, 2021 at 1:00pm with a reception to follow at Beaverhead Golf Course.

My thoughts and prayers are with the family. I´m a locate technician and worked with Chris on several projects. I always enjoyed visiting and working with him. He will be missed a good man gone to soon. So sorry for our loss.
