Dave McGennis

Dave McGennis passed away June 17, 2025, in Sun City, AZ. He was born in Butte to Marian and Albert McGennis and educated at St. John and Central High School.

He was active in Boy Scouts, Little League and enjoyed Fishing and Hunting. He owned many boats over the years and like pulling them with a truck camper or motor home. He served a machinist apprenticeship at the Berkeley Garage in the late 60's and early 70's. He was a master mechanic at truck shops and mining operation in MT, ID and the Seattle area. He was highly regarded at Peterbilt, Mack Trucks, Mechanics Unlimited, Waste Management and the Colstrip mine. After retiring from union shops he worked for Mick O'Brien repairing cars and pickups. The past 11 years he spent winter in Sun City, AZ where he enjoyed playing golf.

He is preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Al. Dave is survived by his wife, Sandy; and dog, Fitz. He was an animal lover and spoiled all his boys.

Funeral services will be celebrated Monday, July 7th at 11:00 a.m., in the chapel of Duggan Dolan Mortuary. Burial will be at Mountain View Cemetery. Memorial are requested to the Butte Food Bank or the Homeless Shelter.
