Doug Taylor Obituary

Doug Taylor

July 7, 1952 - May 29, 2025

Doug Taylor, our beloved husband, father, brother, uncle, and friend, passed away on May 29, 2025, after a brief battle with double pneumonia and pulmonary fibrosis. He passed away with his loving wife, and daughter, by his side in the home that he built for his family.

Doug was born on July 7, 1952, to George and Garnet (Casey) Taylor. He was the oldest of three children. He graduated from Butte High School in 1970.

Doug married Rosemary Wnuczek Taylor on June 3, 1972. They were married five days short of their 53rd Anniversary. They had one daughter, Jessica, who he definitely adored. He was truly a loving dad, attending anything that Jesse was involved in and cheering her on with such pride.

Doug loved the outdoors: camping, fishing, hiking, snowmobiling, and most of all, his hunting trips with his daughter, and his brother, Dennis.

Doug worked for the Anaconda Copper Mining Company (ACM), first as an underground pipefitter, and then as a hoisting engineer, a job he truly loved, until the company cease their underground operations. He then worked as a boiler and building engineer at St. James Healthcare for 40 years. After his retirement, he worked part-time at Certis in building maintenance. He finally retired in 2022.

Doug was preceded in death by his parents: George and Garnet Taylor; in-laws: Aleks and Stacy Wnuczek; sister and brother-in-law: Irene and Bob Sotelo; and nephew, Stewart Taylor.

Doug is survived by his wife, Rosemary; daughter, Jessica Taylor (Derek Ebner); brother, Dennis Taylor (Patsy Winchester); sister, Gayle (Mike) Connors; and nieces and nephews: Kristie (Craig) Duff and Jackson Duff, Kelly Hodges, and Tyler, Spencer, and Parker Hodges, Justin Taylor (Kim Shanklin) and Symon, Foreste, Leo, and Alice Taylor, and Holli and Chris Denmark.

The family wishes to extend a special Thank You to Stillwater Hospice for the loving care they gave to Doug and the support they gave, and continue to give, to his family.

Funeral Service will be celebrated on Saturday, July 12, 2025, at 11 a.m. in the Duggan Dolan Mortuary Chapel. Rite of Committal will follow in Mountain View Cemetery.

So sorry for your loss. Doug was a great guy and I really enjoyed working with him. He was very knowledgeable and I learned a lot from him. He definitely loved and cared about his family very much the way he was always talking about them. He made work more fun and I’m glad I got to know him.
