Gary Marshall Winship, 75

Gary Marshall Winship passed away March 22, 2021. Gary was born on November 14,1945 in Great Falls, Montana and grew up outside Fairfield on the farm with his parents Wallace and Gayle, and his sisters Kathy and Lori. He graduated from Fairfield High School and went on to attend University of Montana. Gary graduated in 1970 with a business degree. He then began his banking career in Anaconda at 1st National Bank and later moved to Butte to work at 1st National/Norwest and Montana Banks. Gary and Sally spent a majority of their years together in Butte raising their two children, Lisa and Jason. Gary enjoyed many rounds on the Butte Country Club. When he was not on the golf course, Gary and Sally cheered on the Grizzlies at every home game. Gary was an avid Griz fan being a lifetime GSA member. For the past 22 years, Gary and Sally enjoyed their life on Flathead Lake in Bigfork. Gary worked at NW Montana Economic Development in Kalispell until retiring in 2010. Gary enjoyed taking the boat out with his kids and grandkids, early morning fishing, and sitting around the fire telling stories. Gary's contagious laugh, sense of humor and enjoyment for life will forever be remembered. Gary is preceded in death by his parents Wallace and Gayle Winship, and his sister Lori (Jay) Lambert. Gary is survived by his wife Sally, daughter Lisa Miller, son Jason (Rachel) Winship, and sister Kathy (Marvin) Johnson. He is also survived by Lisa's children Jessica, Derek, and Reece; and Jason's children Griffin, Grady, and Gibson. He had three great-grandchildren (Jessica) Peyton, Harper, and Kinley. A memorial service will be held this summer to celebrate Gary's life with family and friends. Condolences can be sent to Sally Winship at PO Box 1285, Bigfork, MT 59911.
