Jerry McCauley

June 23, 1934 - July 6, 2025

BUTTE - Jerry McCauley passed away Sunday, July 6, 2025, at his home in Butte. Jerry was born Saturday, June 23, 1934, to Clifford and Emma (Clark) McCauley in Melrose, Mont. The family moved to Butte around 1941, and Jerry attended numerous grade schools in Butte and Rocker. Jerry quit high school in his junior year. During his high school years, he worked after school and on weekends at Pay-n-Save, Murray Motors and Sam and Ernie's Gas Station. He then went to work at Benoak Motors.

In 1952, Jerry married Jackie Secord and together they had three children, Jerrie Ann, Peggy and Steve, but later divorced in 1961. He joined the United States Air Force in 1953 and earned his high school GED while in the service. While in the Air Force, Jerry became an aircraft mechanic and earned his wings as a flight mechanic.

In 1962, Jerry married Shirley Lubick and with her son, Bob Lubick, completed their wonderful family of four children. Jerry and Shirley worked together for 18 years of their married life as owners of Jerry's Mobile Homes in Butte and Jerry's R V Center in Helena. Jerry was a member of the Montana Mobile Home Association, served on the board and as President in 1971. Jerry was also President in several home owners associations. In 1980, Jerry and Shirley retired. Jerry had found the love of his live in Shirley and they had many years of happiness doing all things together.

Jerry, Shirley and the family loved outdoor life and camping with family and friends. They had a summer home on Trout Creek at York, Mont. They all loved boating, water skiing, riding snowmobiles and motorcycles. It was the family gathering place on weekends with lots of friends.

Shirley and Jerry traveled extensively including many states, Europe, Mexico, Canada, Nassau and Puerto Rico. They spent over twenty years "wintering" in Mesa, Ariz. They made many new friends and enjoyed golfing and exploring Arizona. They returned to Helena fulltime in 1995 and moved to Butte in 2002.

Jerry is survived by his wife, Shirley; daughter and son-in-law, Jerrie Ann and Larry Meyers of Sparks, Nev.; daughter, Peggy McCauley of Billings; son, Stephen McCauley of Portland, Ore.; daughter-in-law, Colleen Lubick of Helena; grandchildren, Tony (Anna) Lubick and Amy (Tom) Carlson all of Helena, Trent McCauley of Butte and Ryan Jean (Tater) MacDonald of Clyde Park, Mont.; great-grandchildren, Lane Robillard of Billings, Ireland Curnow of Butte, Quinn Carlson of Helena and Marsalie and Harrison Lubick of Helena. Also surviving are his sisters-in-law, Ada Everard of Eugene, Ore. and Judy McCauley of Helena; and several nieces and nephews including, Eddy (Mac) Sullivan, Gary Sullivan, Chuck Everard, Diane Duyck and sons, Donna Swanson and girls and many other relatives not mentioned. He is preceded in death by his parents, Emma and Clilfford McCauley; mother-in-law, Florence Hubacka; son, Robert James Lubick; brothers, George, Frank, Bob (and wife, Millie), Jimmy; his sister, Barbara and brother-in-law, Duane Everard.

Private graveside funeral services are planned. Instead of memorials, Jerry simply asked that you love your family!
