Marianne Lucille Lane

January 25, 1937-February 4, 2021

Marianne Lucille Lane passed away peacefully of natural causes on February 4th, 2021 at the BeeHive Homes of Butte in Butte, Montana. Marianne was born on January 25th, 1937 in Williams, Indiana to parents John McFarlin and Anne Holg. With hopes of better opportunities, her family relocated to California, where she lived for much of her life. She married Walter Lane on April 7th, 1962 in Lynwood, California and worked as an office manager, making excellent use of her bookish and charming demeanor. She lived her life to the fullest through her many hobbies including her love of books, animals, and travel; and she eventually settled in Butte with her son Mike and her dog, Gordy, in 2004. She is preceded in death by her parents, her son Mike, and her dear friends Midge McGee and Laurie Panasuk, who cared for her during the twilight of her life. She is survived by friends Josh, Kayc and Les Panasuk, Ginette Letourneau, as well as many others she made laugh over the years. She was as much of a storyteller as she was an open book, which has now come to a gentle close. She has left our sight for now but will never be forgotten.
