Mevne Frank Obituary

Mevne Ellen Frank

February 22, 1957 - March 3, 2025

Mevne (Meg) Frank passed away peacefully on March 3, 2025, after seven weeks of pain battling the evil disease called cancer nine days after her 68th birthday in her home in Buffalo, Mont. Meg was born in Missoula, Mont., on February 22, 1957 to Cecil and Beverly (Patterson) Gilmore. She lived in Billings, Mont., Glengary, Mont., and Bozeman, Mont. in her childhood. Meg attended school in Billings all her school years except her one year in Bozeman. Meg graduated from Billings West High in 1975. She did one year at Montana State University in Nursing.

Meg met and dated Calvin Frank in high school and they were married on August 20, 1976. They lived in Bozeman while Cal went to MSU and Meg got her PHTS (Put Hubby Thru School) degree. Their 1st daughter Jessica was born in Bozeman on May 6, 1979. After graduation they moved to Montana City in 1980. Daughters, Rachel and Nicole, were born in Helena, Mont. on November 30, 1981 and November 28, 1983, respectively. While living in Montana City, Mont., Meg and Cal did foster care for several years for three different children. In 1990, they moved to Glendive, Mont. where they lived for five and a half years. While in Glendive, Lynsay, who was a foster child, was adopted into the family. In 1996, they moved to Butte where they lived for five and a half years. In 2001, Meg got her "life long dream" of moving and living in Buffalo.

Meg dearly loved gardening, camping and especially spending time with her children and grandchildren, which she was blessed with 20 grandchildren. Her generosity and kindness blessed many family and friends throughout her lifetime. She will be sorely missed by her husband, daughters, grandchildren, and friends.

Meg was preceded in death by her father, Cecil Gilmore; mother, Beverly; stepmother, Doris; sister, Melissa; and brother, Dan. She is survived by her husband, Cal; daughters, Jessica (Ryan), Rachel, Nicole (Andre), and Lynsay; and grandchildren, Abraham, Hannah, Joel (Abigail), Faith, Jared, Micah, Ethan, Elizabeth, Luke, Elijah, Malachi, Asher, David, Abigail, Tikvah, Angela, Heather, Matthew, Rochelle, and Dakota.

Burial has taken place in the Buffalo/Straw cemetery. A memorial service is tentatively planned for April 26, 2025, TBA. Memorials for Meg can be given to Joined to Hashem, PO Box 361, Franklin, N.C. 28744 or Joinedtohashem.org, where the donations will be distributed to charities and needy in Israel, where her heart and love for Israel was.

Dear Cal,
Even though we didn´t know each other closely in school-I knew you as one of the truly nicest guys, in the whole class. It seems Meg felt that way too! It´s heartwarming to know that you and Meg built and enjoyed a wholesome life together. Congratulations to you and Meg. I´m deeply sorry for your sorrow, Cal

I hope we get to see each other before another lifetime passes

I miss my Aunt Meg´s cheerful voice, always full of love, laughter, kindness and wisdom. I will always cherish memories of having heartfelt conversations with her, her love of family celebrations and gatherings and her insisting that she bring food for them all! A good visit together with a couple glasses of wine and you´d be on a trip down memory lane, laughing, crying, connecting with her the way few relatives do anymore; she was a rare gift with a beautiful soul and heart of gold. I will especially miss her smile and her funny expressions. I always admired her love and relationship with the Lord, my Uncle Cal, her Family, and her love of all animals, family momentos, gardening and 100x houseplants. Summer visits with her as a child are treasured memories and she modeled to me everything good that a Wife, Mother, Sister and Daughter should be. Our loss is Heaven´s gain, and my heart is at peace knowing she is with her Savior and reunited with her family there. I am so Blessed to have had my wonderful Aunt Meg as a loving role model in my life. Rest in Peace, Love & Miss you always.
