Nettie Ore Obituary

Nettie Catherine Johnston Ore

November 26, 1986 - January 19, 2025

Born November 26, 1986.

Passed away on January 19, 2025 in Beulah, N.D.

Graduated from Butte High School June 2005.

Graduated from Montana Tech December 22, 2009 with a Bachelor of Science in Petroleum Engineering.

July 26, 2014 she married her soulmate, Juris Ore. The two of them loved Montana, especially Seeley Lake. Their days at the cabin on the hill were spent fishing, watching wildlife, and great adventures in The Jeep, always capturing pictures of the sunrise and Mr. Moon.

Good Ol Jaxore was their forever companion.

Her employment ranged from membership in Laborers Local #1334 to working for Robinson Nevada Mining in Ely, Nev. to Kamloops, British Columbia, and West Moreland Mining in Edson, Alberta.

Her current position was Manager of Environmental and Regulatory for Westmoreland in Billings, Mont. This position brought her home at last to her beloved Montana.

Her work allowed her to bond with so many co-workers, especially Jesse, who shared her passion for sports betting.

She is survived by her husband, Juris Ore; Shaina Prichard (Brigit); and Colter Ore.

Also surviving are her parents, Jim and Linda Johnston; her brother, Jimmy Johnston; aunts and uncles, John and Carol Johnston, Frank and Mary Johnston, Dan and Gay Rosa, Mike Johnston and Judy Brogan; and her aunt, Dorothy Jones.

Her in-laws were Juris and Winnie Ore, brother, Kevin (Roxanne), and Candice Petersen (Doug).

This large, wonderful family included many cousins, nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her grandmother, Catherine Johnston; aunt, Florence Gavigan; grandfather and grandmother, Henry and Marjorie Thomas; uncle, Don Jones; cousins, Dave Rosa and Nathan Silzly.

Funeral Services will be held in Butte, February 1st, 10 a.m. at St Patrick's Church.

Juris, Linda and Jim,
I have just found out about Nettie's passing and I am in shock. Nettie and I worked together for TIMET and spent many hours on the phone (she in Henderson and me out in Morgantown, PA) working on environmental issues. After she left, we still stayed in touch and I loved sending photos of my gardens for her to share with Linda. Nettie had a wonderful sense of humor and could always put a smile on my face even when days were tough. She loved to tell me about Montana and her family, and you could hear the love in her voice. My heartfelt condolences to you all. Karen M Jones

This is so heartbreaking. Nettie worked with me in Canada for several years and she has always been one of my favourite colleagues. So wonderfully intelligent and such a hilarious sense of humour. It took her a while to open up to me but I´m so glad I got to know her. I am so so sorry for your loss.
