OLAF EDMOND WENGER, 84

Mr. Olaf "Ole" Edmond Wenger passed away Monday morning, November 22, 2021 in St. James Healthcare. He was born in Butte, Sunday, October 3, 1937 to Olaf A. and Anastasia (Muffich) Wenger. Ole grew up in Butte and was raised by his father and step-mother Lucia Wenger. He attended local schools including Butte High School and the Butte Business College.
Ole worked as a driver and salesman for Bob and Joe's Wholesale, Thompson Distributing then Bertoglio Distributing before going to work for Morrison-Knutson Construction Company. When Morison-Knutson took over mining operations in Kemmerer, Wyoming, Ole transferred there and he and his wife made many long lasting friendships there. The operations in Kemmerer were eventually purchased by Chevron P & M Mining Division. Ole retired in 1998. They moved to Salt Lake City and returned to Butte in 2000. Ole enjoy golfing with his friends and their monthly golf dinners with their wives. He and Carol also enjoyed traveling to see family.
He married Carol Miller in Butte on June 8, 1958 and together they raised two daughters. He is survived by his wife Carol Wenger of Butte, daughters and son-in-law, Sherrie and Jack Walsh of Butte and Julie Gary, (deceased) Johnson of Harrisville, Utah, grandchildren: Sean (Eva) Edwards of Tucson, AZ, Bryan (Joan) Edwards of Tucson, AZ, Kaleigh (John) Robbins of Butte, Riley Johnson and Katya Beger of Ogden, and Brett (Kristie) Johnson of Roy, UT. Great-grandchildren include: Hannah, Haiden and Sean Jr. Edwards, Jacob and Dominic Diaz, Alany Rivas, Kade, Maddox, Teagan and Drue Edwards, Brysen Fossness, Bentley Robbins, Beau and Ellie Johnson, Hurley Hamilton and Jax Johnson. Other survivors include his brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Charlie and Jenetta Miller of Wise River as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins. He is preceded in death by his parents Olaf and Anastasia Wenger and his step-mother Lucia Wenger, brother, Wayne Wenger, son-in-law, Gary Johnson and his mother and father-in-law Doreen Miller and Arthur Miller.
Cremation has taken place. Memorial services will be conducted Wednesday afternoon, December 1st at 2 o'clock in Aldersgate United Methodist Church with Pastor Matthias Krier officiating. A reception will follow in Aldersgate Fellowship Hall. Memorials may be made to the Butte Emergency Food Bank and the Shrine Hospital for Children or Aldersgate United Methodist Church. Carol & family, sorry to hear about Ole's passing. He was a nicest guy, who was always great to talk to. I remember all them fun times our families had together growing up. You and your family are in my thoughts and prayers. RIP Ole.

I had the pleasure of selling Ole and Carol several automobiles.I remember Ole as an incredible,kind and sincere man, who cared so much about his family.Ole with always have a special place in my heart.My sincere condolences to Carol and family.

I worked at Bob & Joe's after school and on Saturdays at the time that Ole was there. Great guy! My sympathies to Carol and the rest of the family.
