I'm very sad to hear this. Scott and I grew up together. We were born on the same day in Butte, MT and we were both named Scott. I remember in 5th grade, he played a saxophone solo for a school talent show. He was good even then. I was so impressed that I took up saxophone as well because of him. He was always better than me but I couldn't get too upset because he was the best saxophone player in Montana. At the District music festivals, he was the one out of many, that was invited to play his solo at the evening concert. Later, he was also in the first jazz band at Montana State University. That was quite a feat for an engineering major. Most of the first jazz band spots were taken by music majors. He really was a music teacher for me, along with JoAnn Lewis. My condolences to Chuck and Helen.

My condolences to Helen and Chuck. Scott was a dear friend in junior high, high school, and MSU and later in life. He visited my husband and I when we were living in Maryland. I look back fondly on those youthful days. Remembering all our days in the band with joy and with so much life ahead of us. Love you Scott!
