Shane Michael Anderson, 45
December 31, 1975 – May 09. 2021
Shane Michael Andersen, age 45 passed away May 9, 2021. He was born December 31, 1975 to Holly R. Vidic and Robert M Andersen. He was raised by Holly and stepdad Tom Vidic.
Shane attended Longfellow Elementary, East Middle school and Butte High graduating in 1995.
Shane worked at a few jobs before finding his way into a career as a residential and commercial painter. For the next 15 years, he worked in that field eventually owning his own business in the Flathead area. Shane and Shelly moved back to Butte where Shane worked for Montana Resources and then decided to put his CDL to use working for FedEx Freight for the past 3 years.
Shane married the love of his life, Shelly, in 2001 and were married for 19 years. They were blessed to welcome their son, Cooper in 2002. Cooper was the light of his life and his greatest love.
Shane loved the outdoors and was happiest when fishing no matter the season. With his competitive streak, he wanted to out-fish everyone. Shane and Shelly have had an ongoing yearly fishing competition where he let her have the occasional win.
Shane was also passionate about hunting and floating the rivers in MT and always wanted to have his dogs that he loved so much by his side.
Shane spent much of his childhood camping and on the water at Canyon Ferry lake. He was lucky to grow up with incredible family friends that joined in all the adventures and remained life long friends.
Shane will be remembered as a hard working, generous, caring man with a heart of gold. He was a jokester with a fun loving personality and a gift for making people laugh. He was through and through a Butte boy, feisty to the core.
Shane was preceded in death by his son Cooper Curtis Andersen, grandfather Robert W. Andersen, grandmother Ruth Lyons and mother in law Diane (Marsh) Peterson.
Shane is survived by his wife, Shelly Andersen, step daughter Alice Vrana; parents Holly and Tom Vidic and Robert M. Andersen; brother Robert Andersen and wife Michelle, their children Tianna, Roman, Brenden, and Holly as well as Peyton Warren; step-brother Justin Andersen; in-laws Curtis Peterson and Jan McDonald; sister and brother in law, Stacy and David Ballew and their children Taylor and Kyle; and sister in law Rhonda Peterson. Shane leaves behind many, loved ones and friends, many who he considered to be family.
