Shirley Warner, 71 Shirley (Maloughney) Warner, beloved wife, mother, sister, mother-in-law, grandmother and friend, died at home on Sunday, Jan. 1, 2006.
She was born in Butte on May 14, 1934, the first child of Christena and Frank Maloughney. Shirley attended St. Lawrence Grade School and graduated from Girls Central High School in 1952. She worked as an assistant at St. James Healthcare and for the Montana Highway Department.
On May 28, 1955, she married her love, Donald F. Warner of Butte, with whom she recently celebrated 50 years of marriage during a family gathering in May 2005.
Shirley enjoyed time being with her family, caring for her grandchildren, crocheting, knitting, summer with family and friends at Ennis Lake, ceramics, and was a devoted board member of the Spirit of Columbia Gardens Carousel. She designed the Warner family horse "Whitie" with great detail and dedication with the generous help of her brother-in-law, Tim Warner. She also enjoyed time together with her Centerville friends and the "Go Around" Club. Shirley prided herself in her Irish heritage and devotion to the Democratic Party.
Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, parents-in-law, Ruth and Clinton Warner, and niece, Christi Krause.
She is survived by her husband, Don of Butte, and children, Kim Warner of Butte, Don (Dot) Warner of Butte, Sean (Trina) Warner of Pullman, Wash., and Kevin (Anne) Warner of Butte.
Shirley will also be sadly missed by her surviving sole granddaughter, Giordyn Warner of Butte, and five grandsons, Brandon and Griff Warner of Butte, Connor Warner of Pullman, Wash., and Tyler and Keaton Warner of Butte.
Also surviving are her siblings of Butte, sisters, Lorena (Chuck) Krause, Colleen (Les) Nelson, and brother, Mike (Averil) Maloughney; in-laws, Donna (Clarence) Roper of Butte, Jack (Pat) Warner of Butte, Clinton Warner of Mesa, Ariz., Marlene (John) Malyevac of Butte, Roy Warner and friend Ruth of Portland, Ore., Margaret "Pinky" Warner of Livingston, Tim (Windy) Warner of Dallas, Texas, and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
Friends are asked to join the family for visitation Tuesday after 4 p.m. at Duggan Dolan Mortuary. Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Liturgy of the Resurrection will be held Wednesday at 10 a.m. at St. Patrick's Catholic Church followed by a luncheon for family and friends at the Red Lion Inn.
