Thomas Alan Brown, 57
June 30, 1964 – August 16, 2021
Thomas Alan Brown passed away August 16th at St. James hospital surrounded by his family and loved ones.
Tom was well known and loved throughout every community he ever resided. Born June 30, 1964 in Dillon, Montana to Janell and Dean Brown. He was the seventh of nine children and loved being a part of such a large family. Tom spent his younger years living in communities all over Montana. He graduated from Stanford High School in 1983 where he enjoyed wrestling.
After High School, Tom attended Montana College of Mineral Science and Technology in Butte majoring in Petroleum Engineering. He was conferred May 9, 1987. After finishing his degree, Tom always held a multitude of odd jobs including managing apartments and storage units, delivering for Schwann's, acting as a handyman, and most notably spending over twenty-one years working for Ecolab based out of Butte.
In his tenure at Ecolab, Tom enjoyed meeting restaurant owners, medical staff, and hotel workers. He was very devoted to ensuring the needs of the Butte and surrounding communities were met. His job allowed him to work with his hands while also getting to know so many different people.
While most people would be tired of working such a demanding job, Tom was always ready to jump into a home improvement project. Aside from improving his own home, he helped with projects for anyone who asked, especially when his children Brittany and Erik moved into homes of their own.
Tom could always be found working on some project or another. As soon as one project was complete, he'd move right to the next. Whether building decks, or doing electrical work, there wasn't much Tom couldn't take care of.
Tom's greatest blessings in life were his two grandchildren. His great buddy, Chad loved to help his Papa with his projects, and the two of them could always get into trouble. His granddaughter, Aspen, was just born in July, and he was so excited to be able to snuggle her.
Tom is preceded in death by his parents Janell and Dean Brown, and sister Mary Okuly.
Tom is survived by his children Brittany Brown and Erik (Tanna) Brown, grandchildren Chad Lee and Aspen Brown, siblings Cindy (David) Wooton, Mike ( Montana) Brown, Cathy Clark, Sandy(Perry) Roberts, Trish (Randy) Lynes, Rob (Deanna) Brown, Rick( Susan) Brown, and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank Dr. Pullman, the staff at St. James, and the St. James ICU care team. We would also like to thank Life Center Organ donation for helping to navigate through the process of honoring dad's wishes to be an organ donor and having a successful organ donation occur.
Funeral Services will be conducted on Tuesday at 3:00 PM in the Duggan Dolan Mortuary Chapel. Burial will take place on Wednesday at 11:00 am at Mount Olivet Cemetery in Great Falls, Montana.
Sponsored by Duggan Dolan Mortuary - Butte.

Tom will be greatly missed and remembered by all of his Ecolab Family over his 21 year career. Tom was dedicated to helping his Customers succeed with his expertise and partnerships. No matter what time that customer emergency or teammates call came in, day or night, Tom answered the call. Tom´s dedication, dignity, integrity, and being part of the team does not do justice to all of Tom´s accomplishments and many company awards over his career. The one thing I know for sure is we have lost a wonderful soul that we will all remember, reminisce, share stories, and great memories of our friend and Coworker. Sending thoughts and prayers.

I just want to say thank you Uncle Tom for being so present in so many people's lives and for all the times you were present in my life. Thank you for all the advice with Zach and his heart issues, for you had been through so much with your own heart. Everytime you were in a room with your family you offered smiles, comfort, advice , kindness, and good times. I am sure everyone who has had the opportunity to know you, knows you are an amazing person. Even in your death you are helping so many people. You are greatly missed and loved ! Your legacy lives on with your children and grandchildren.
