Thomas Lee Obituary
In Loving Memory of Thomas Lee.
With profound sadness, we share the passing of Tom-affectionately known by his grandkids as Poppy-who departed this life on August 21, 2025. A devoted father, cherished friend, and radiant source of joy, Tom brought warmth and laughter to all who had the honor of knowing him.
Born and raised in Butte, Montana, Tom carried the spirit of his hometown with him wherever he went-gritty, loyal, and full of heart. The friendships he forged in Butte were lifelong, with many of those bonds remaining strong through decades and distance. Whether swapping stories over a beer, sharing laughs at the bowling alley, playing softball or handball, or lending a hand when someone needed it, Tom was the kind of friend who always showed up. His Butte roots shaped his values, his humor, and his unwavering sense of community.
Though we mourn his passing, we find peace in knowing he was greeted in Heaven by his loving parents, his brother Bob, and many dear friends and family who went before him. What a reunion that must have been-filled with laughter, stories, and the warmth of eternal love.
Tom leaves behind his devoted wife, Danetta; his loving daughters and sons-in-law, Yvette & Gregg Mickelson and April Lee & David Tipp; and his cherished grandchildren-Whitney Jensen (Jonathan Jensen), Jordyn Watanabe O'Toole (Nick Watanabe O'Toole), McKay Mickelson, Hadyn Salcido, and Jojo Tipp. He was also blessed with great-grandchildren, Maverick and Emersyn.
He is survived by his sister Donna, whose care and companionship during his time in Seattle meant the world to him; his brother Joe, with whom he shared daily conversations that brought comfort and connection; and his brother, Bill. He also leaves behind his beloved brother and sister-in-law, affectionately known to him as "Bro and Sis," who were a huge part of his life and brought him unwavering love and support.
Tom's legacy lives on through an extended family too numerous to name and a wide circle of friends who, over the years, became family in every sense of the word. Though our hearts ache with his absence, we find solace in the laughter he shared, the memories he created, and the boundless love he gave so freely.
