Christine Erickson Obituary

She was born in Muskegon on May 1, 1954 to Gerald and Pauline (Certalic) Springstead. Christine was a member of Port City Church where she volunteered her time with Sunday School and Vacation Bible School. Christine was an elementary teacher at Muskegon Heights prior to her retirement in 2000. She was a giver and was always looking for ways to help others. Christine also served on the board for Beach League football, held bible studies at the Muskegon Co. Jail for women, and belonged to Alcoholics Anonymous for which she was a sponsor to many and served as an officer. Most importantly, Christine loved every moment with her family and supporting her grandchildren while they played one sport after another. On October 12, 1996 she married the love of her life, Jeff Erickson and he survives her along with five children, Joseph (Julie) Straley, Jason (Charity) Straley, Jeffrey Straley, Stephanie (Ken) Richards and Michael (Jamie) Hekker; 12 grandchildren, Caleb (Bailey) Straley, Christian Straley, Autumn Straley, Hope Straley, Cole (Hailee) Mumme, Cailey Richards, Brody Richards, Maya Straley, Matthew Straley, Nathan Straley, Rebecca Straley and Jameson Hekker; brother, John Springstead and sister, Marilynn Lemieux. She was preceded in death by her sister-in-law, Paula Springstead and brother-in-law, Rick Lemieux. VISITATION with the family will be on Monday, January 4th, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at The Lee Chapel of Sytsema Funeral and Cremation Services, 6291 S. Harvey St., Norton Shores, MI 49444. To the Family and friends of Chris,
Chris was a wonderful, kind and intelligent person. We went to high school together,
where she was welcoming to everyone.
Sending love and prayers to you all.
Sincerely,
Deb Tufts
