Larry W. Harvey

Larry was born in Portland, Oregon on February 11, 1936 to Bill and Daphane Harvey. During his high school years, his family moved to Pasco, Washington. Larry was a talented athlete leading his high school to many victories. He lettered in football, basketball, track and baseball. Larry attended WWU for a short time prior to his marriage to Alice Tieman. He was a hard worker to provide for his wife and children. He went to work as a welder/pipefitter for Georgia Pacific Tissue Mill and worked there for more than 45 years. Because of his knowledge of the plant, he went back during the plant's closure. Larry married Alice Tieman on December 10th, 1955. Together, they raised four children: Becky, Lorrie, Carrie and Bill. Larry was preceded in death by his parents Bill and Daphane Harvey, daughter Lorrie Collins (Joe) and grandson Pepe. He is survived by his wife Alice of 69 years, brother Laddie Harvey (Sharon). Daughters Becky Dillard (Dave), Carrie Baumunk, and son Bill Harvey (Virginia). Grandchildren Wendi Modarelli (Mark), Jeff Dillard (Laura), Stephanie Wright, David Climer, Lindsey Keane (Andrew), Travis Trott (Kimberly), Brad Harvey and Allison Cole. Great grandchildren Makayla Morrow (Levi), Abby, Taylor, Oliver, Henry, Gavin, Leah, Ryan, Callan, Maggie, Addison, Cameron, Colton and Jaxson. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Larry was active throughout his adult years. He enjoyed riding his enduro motorcycle, trap shooting, and pheasant hunting. He and Alice loved fishing together. He played in the over-fifty men's soft ball league and especially loved playing golf with his Lake Padden buddies. Larry was an active member of Immanuel Bible Church. He faithfully picked up home bound individuals for Sunday church services, he also mowed the church's lawn for many years. We thank our Aunt Ruth Nelson, her husband Gary, and their family for the many ways they support our family. A family graveside service is planned with a memorial service scheduled on January 18th at 1:00pm, at Immanuel Bible Church 2000 W North Street Bellingham, WA 98225.
