Richard "Dick" Holloway

Richard John Holloway, "Dick", passed away on Wednesday, September 17, 2025, at the Christian Health Care Center. He was known for being honorable, trustworthy and friendly to all he met. Dick was born October 19, 1932, in Maumee, Ohio to parents Paul and Bernice (Denio) Holloway. He had two brothers. Dick was raised in Ohio on the farm, building a strong work ethic, and remembers helping with chores and caring for the animals. After graduating high school, he joined the Army serving in the Korean war. In 1986, Dick married Geraldine Gourley then taking on her four children. He was a constant support to Gerrie and encouraged the children by listening and making them feel loved. Geraldine and Dick were the best of friends and were at their best working together. Dick had a career in warehousing working for A P Parts in Indiana and North Carolina and then Blythe Plumbing and Heating until the age of 90. Dick loved anything cars, from souping up cars to drag racing to fancy carwashes. Dick is survived by his wife of 39 years, Geraldine, daughter Patricia, stepchildren Cynthia and Ronald, grandson Adam, and one brother. He is proceeded in death by son Tom, two stepchildren Sherry Ann and Robert, and brother Thomas. Services will take place on Wednesday, September 24, 2025, at Gillies Funeral Home in the chapel with Visitation beginning at 2 p.m. followed by a 3 p.m. Funeral service. The graveside committal will follow about 3:40 p.m. at Greenwood Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Gillies Funeral Home and Cremation Services.
