Richard Rothmeyer Obituary

Richard John Rothmeyer, 83, of Everson, passed away at home on January 14, 2025, after a courageous battle with pulmonary fibrosis. Born on December 14, 1941, in Decorah, Iowa, Richard was the son of Florian and Kathryn Rothmeyer. He served honorably in the United States Air Force for 21 years, dedicating his life to his country. During his distinguished military career, Richard earned numerous accolades, including the Small Arms Marksmanship Ribbon, Army Good Conduct Medal, Air Force Longevity Service Ribbon with four oak leaf clusters, National Defense Service Medal, Vietnamese Service Ribbon with two devices, Air Force Outstanding Unit Award, Air Force Commendation Medal, and the Air Force Good Conduct Medal with one silver oak leaf cluster. After his military service, Richard pursued a successful career as an entrepreneur. He was a man of many passions, including golfing, yard work, keeping busy with tasks, spending time with his family, and trying his luck at a slot machine. His dedication to family touched all who knew him. Richard is survived by his beloved wife, Luella Rothmeyer; his children, Tracy Anderson, Greg Rothmeyer, and Tina Goldston; his grandchildren, Justin and Brandon Goldston, Pierce Rothmeyer, and Amber Bromet; and his great-grandchildren, Dillon and Warren Goldston. He cherished his family deeply and took immense pride in the lives of his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Richard will be remembered for his unwavering love, strength, and the special bond he shared with his family. His unconditional love for his grandchildren and great-grandchildren will forever be his legacy. "He will be dearly missed but always lovingly remembered."
