Sudie B. Mefford

Sudie B. Mefford, age 75, of Carrollton, Kentucky, died on Saturday, July 2, 2022 at the St. Elizabeth Hospital in Edgewood, Kentucky. She was born on June 20, 1947 in Clay County, Kentucky, the daughter of Earnest and Julia Couch Burns. Sudie was a faithful member of the Relevant Church in Carrollton, Kentucky where she always looked forward and enjoyed the annual Ladies Tea. She retired in 1996 as the Bakery Production Manager for Remke Market in Florence, Kentucky and was active in the family business operating the Convenient Food Mart in Carrollton. In addition to baking, Sudie enjoyed shopping, eating the vegetable soup at Frisch's and McDonald's Diet Cokes. Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her family, children and grandchildren.
Survivors include her husband, Kenneth Mefford; a daughter, Michelle (Harold) Caudill of Frankfort, Kentucky; two sons, Mike (Elizabeth) Mefford and Darren (Avona) Mefford, both of Carrollton; two sisters, Opal Robbins and Betty Hearn, both of Carrollton; three brothers, Herman Burns, Edward Burns and John Burns, all of Carrollton; fourteen grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m., Friday, July 8, 2022 at the Relevant Church in Carrollton. The Rev. Donnie Tiller and Rev. Rusty Bennett will officiate. Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m., Friday, at the church. Burial will take place in the English Cemetery.
