Adele Gallagher

AGE: 75 • Long Branch

Adele Gallagher (D'Orsi), 75, of Long Branch, passed away June 10th at Monmouth Medical Center from complications from a fall. Born in Long Branch on June 4th 1939 to the late Joseph and Marie D'Orsi, Adele was raised in Port Reading, lived in Brick before moving to Long Branch ten years ago. Adele was a retired receptionist for the Family and Children Service in Long Branch for many years. She was a member of St. Anthony of Padua R.C. Church, Port Reading and was a graduate of St. Mary's High School in Perth Amboy.

She is predeceased by her parents Joseph "Sam" and Marie D'Orsi, husband Daniel Wayne Gallagher, brother Joseph D'Orsi, sister Dorothy Alach, granddaughter Maggie Gallagher and her nephew and Godson David Jesse "DJ" D'Orsi. She is survived by her loving children Thomas Gallagher and his wife Carol, Patrick Gallagher and his wife Sandy, Leigh Gallagher, Daniel Gallagher and his wife Kelly, her brother Hank D'Orsi and his wife Kathy, a sister Alexis "Lexi" D'Orsi, nine grandchildren Michelle, Joshua, George, Samuel, Elliot, Macy, Amanda, Allysa, Daniel, three great grandchildren, many nieces, nephews and cousins. Adele enjoyed being with her family and friends at all functions. She was always cheerful and pleasant to all around her. She loved flowers, good food, a good book and she was a great cook. Adele laughed easily which radiated a positive energy that was welcoming. She was a beloved member of the community and she will be greatly missed.

Funeral services will be held Saturday 9:00am from the Chubenko Funeral Home, 625 Port Reading Ave., Port Reading, followed by a 9:30am Mass of Resurrection at St. Anthony of Padua R.C. Church, Port Reading with internment to follow at St. James Cemetery, Woodbridge. Visitation will be Friday 4pm to 8pm at the funeral home. I'll always remember the Sundays at grandpas with all the cousins Adele was always with a smile a laugh she was the worldly cousin always in the latest style. I also remember her encouragement for Lexi, Cathy and I to get the cherries off the tree without Aunt Florence catching us

Sorry to hear the sad news of Adele's passing. Though we have not seen her inmany years we remember her beautiful smile, her wonderful laugh and her love for her family & friends.
Adele you will be making heaven a place filled with love! You will be with Wayne & Maggie. And all her big dogs that she loved.
