ALEXANDER
PASTORE SR.
AGE: 88 HIGHSTOWN
Alexander Pastore Sr., 88, of Hightstown, passed away Wednesday in RWJ University Hospital at New Brunswick. He was a lifelong Hightstown resident. He served in the Navy during World War II with LCT Flotilla Five in the Solomon Islands and while attached to this command he actively participated in the New Georgia-Rendova, Vella Lavella, and Treasury and Bougainville-Occupations. He was a lace weaver for Native Lace in Hightstown and the owner of Al's Seafood in Hightstown. He was a member of the V.F.W. and St. Anthony of Padua Roman Catholic Church. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and was the owner of the charter boat "Jo-Ann". He also enjoyed playing blackjack during his trips to Atlantic City.
Son of the late John and Anna Paladino Pastore, brother of the late Johnny, Frank and Angelo Pastore and husband of the late Hattie Karney Pastore; he is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Cynthia and David Longo of Millstone Township; his son and daughter-in-law, Alex and Tricia Pastore of Mobile, Ala.; two sisters, Rose Moslowski and Mary Berking; a brother, Carmine Pastore; three grandchildren, Vanessa, Dana, and Katie; a great-grandson, Damon; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Relatives and friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday, May 1 at the A.S. Cole Funeral Home, 22 North Main St., Cranbury. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 2 at the funeral home. Interment will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, East Brunswick.
