Alice Haas Obituary

Alice Beatrice Castro Haas

AGE: 93 • Bridgewater

Alice "Lambie" Haas, 93, of Bridgewater, New Jersey, passed away on February 26, 2017. She was born in Reading, PA, and grew up in Lackawanna, NY and on Staten Island. After marrying, she raised her children in Watchung, then North Plainfield, NJ. After retiring she & her husband moved frequently to be close to one or more of their children. She lived in Milford, New Hampshire, then returned to New Jersey, living in Pluckemin, Dunellen, Sparta and most recently, Bridgewater.

During World War II she worked for Walker Turner, and later settled into being a homemaker, which she never retired from, for her husband, mother and seven children. She created a loving home for her family which extended to many animals through her love for dogs, and birds.

She is predeceased by her husband of 60 years William Arthur Haas, her brothers Porfirio (Bonn), Edward, Joseph and her sisters Louise, Consuelo (Connie) and grandson Michael Kipp of Bound Brook.

Alice is survived by her seven children, Diane Louise Fitzpatrick of Poulsbo, WA, Debra Calie of Somerset, NJ, Arthur William Haas of Dunellen, Darlene Ann Decker of Lafayette, William Arthur Haas, Jr. of Effort, PA, Donna Ann Grare of Bridgewater and Henry Haas, PA; eleven grandchildren, and many more great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews who were all very special to her.

There will be a private family gathering in May, celebrating Alice's life as she would have wanted her family to do. Donations in her memory may be made to Eastern Star (111 Finderne Ave, Bridgewater, NJ 08807) to help support a wonderful organization that helps so many.
