I was researching the 1950 Chicago 27th Ward Census and came across Andrew's name and his family. Since I saw that his occupation was a Boxing Instructor, I immediately did the research and came across his. I am elated to have found his life story. Great man and story.

Back when trainers were ripping every boxer off, for $25-$50, a week, until each poor fellow, didn't have money anymore, and leaving the boxer behind, like he'd lost, Andy would coach you some advice, or even take a picture, with you. You'd be thinking, you weren't worthy, and you couldn't afford gym dues, but you'd wish he was your trainer, and pop back, up in the gym, and circle the walls, right quick, to see, if he was there. He had already told us the best advice. We were a champ. What else does a coach need, to make sure a boxer knows?

I just saw this, I'm sorry for your loss. I knew your dad in Las Vegas in the 1990s. I was not a boxer, but he kept me enthralled with his stories and his philosophy on life and boxing. He made an indelible imprint on my life, and to this day I'm surprised how often I think of him. Thank you for sharing him with the world and with me.

After reading this obituary it would have been my honor to have known Mr. Scrivani. I wish I could have been there during his rise in the boxing world. He deffently left his mark on many a person, whether boxing, fighting for our country, or teaching boxing. My condolences to his family.

Bob:
Sorry to hear about your dad. You often mentioned his boxing career but I wasn't aware how extensive it was. I haven't seen you around recently and didn't realize that your father had moved in with you.
Wishing you all the best from our family.
