Ann morecraft is gone but memories are forever. I'm now 60 and a long time since I was in her 1st grade class. I was explaining to my 7 yr old girlfriend granddaughter all about my 1st grade teacher. she was amazed that we went to a farm for a field trip. Or a real Thanksgiving dinner. (I still have my picture as an Indian) amazing still is my mom and I would frequent the bakery her parents owned in Bound brook. I am amazed just how much Ann Baskin morecraft has touched every corner of my life.

Mrs morecraft may have passed but she was 1 of the few people who was a "teacher". I loved her inside and out. Veru creative, inspiring and never expected anything from her students that didn't require a bit of extra encouragement. I met her a few years before she passed and she knew me. I lovrd her horse ribbons, her books we read around the top of the room, singing, and encouragement to every one. Just try, she would say. If you failed, she would say, good try. Next time, try this. She encouraged other students to help student struggling. It was such a pleasure to know she had your back. Long live merry berry farm! Plus my mom bought bread from her family's bakery b4 I had her 4 a teacher.
She saud when I showed her this picture, me at 5-6, she said, "to me, that's what you will look like!"

Mrs morecraft was 1 of my most admired teachers. She encouraged you to be you. I can clearly remember joe Judith, Jay Atkinson, Alison troffatter, the library, Thanksgiving, pilgrim and Indians, wall murals, she always said, "it's nice to be nice," never remember her yelling. Merry berry farm. The house across from the post office. I visited her at her farm in 2005 and she could tell me every token/gift who it was from and reason. Steven guirdano was 1 I remember. I have my 1st grade school pic. I have on a red ribbon on (1st place) for reading. I was so proud. If you never had the privilege of meeting ann morecraft, you missed out. Ps. She even wrote her name and phone number on my yellow envelope for our report cards so I could visit in the summer, 1970,71.
God bless mrs. Morecraft. She would be so pleased to see her farm being used for this purpose. To be 6 yrs old with Mrs morecraft was such a pleasure.

I was very sorry to hear of Mrs. Morecraft's passing. Even though it was nearly 40 years ago, I still have fond memories of being in first grade at Valley School with her as my teacher - visiting the farm, dressing up for Thanksgiving and performing the play Sleeping Beauty (with Alison). She will be sorely missed.

Mrs. Morecraft was my first grade teacher too (with Dennis). I am now a teacher myself and taught next to her daughter Chris Montefusco for two years. Mrs. Morecraft was a class act!!!

Ann will be missed by many. My favorite memory of Anne, was at Vacation Bible School at St. John's. Ann had all the children on the floor painting these gigantic trees which were then used as the decoration mural. I'll miss you Ann.
