DR. ANTHONY R. MAGLIULO
AGE: 77
SOUTH PLAINFIELD
Dr. Anthony R. Magliulo, 77, died on Wednesday, April 29, 2009 at JFK Medical Center in Edison. Born and raised in Brooklyn, Dr. Magliulo had resided in Piscataway for twenty eight years before settling to South Plainfield seven years ago. A graduate of Brooklyn College, he continued his studies at St. John's University where he earned his Masters degree and his Doctorate degree in Science. Having a passion for education and science, Dr. Magliulo was a college professor for many years at John Jay College before his retirement in the late 1990's and was also known for his numerous publications in his field of study. Dr. Magliulo had enjoyed reading and trips to Atlantic City, but most of all was proud to be a true family man.
He is predeceased by his parents, Joseph & Esterina; and his son, Joseph. Surviving are his beloved wife, Anna (Defonte); his six children; daughters, Estelle Keane and her husband, William, Lisa Jones and her husband, David and Anna Magliulo all of South Plainfield; and sons, Anthony and his wife Donna of Hillsborough, Nicholas and Robert, both of South Plainfield. Also surviving are three sisters, Annette Martino, Camille Walsh and Estelle DePasquale; and a brother, Vincent; and thirteen beloved grandchildren.
Funeral services will begin on Saturday, May 2, 2009 at 8:45 AM in the McCriskin - Gustafson Home For Funerals, 2425 Plainfield Ave., South Plainfield, NJ 07080, (www.mccriskinfuneralhome.com), followed by a 9:30 AM funeral mass in Our Lady of Czestochowa RC Church, South Plainfield. Interment will follow in Holy Redeemer Cemetery, South Plainfield. Family & Friends may attend the visitation hours on Friday May 1, 2009 from 2-4 & 7-9 PM in the funeral home.
