Arthur Lee Pritchett

Arthur Lee Pritchett was born April 5th, 1932 in Wetumpka, Alabama to late Arthur Nae Pritchett and Ruby Simpson Pritchett. He entered into the gates of heaven Monday January 23rd, 2017.

He was drafted into the United States Army in 1952 and received an honorable discharge in 1956. While in the Army, he served in the Korean war and developed a trade and skill of building things. After completing his tour in the Army, he moved to the Red Bank, NJ area where he met and married Sally Ann Crowder; they were married for 58 years. They resided together in Tinton Falls for over 50 years.

He was employed as a construction worker, by Charles B. Hembling & Son Construction Company for 25 years and retired in 1994. He loved building things and he was responsible for the development of many buildings in the Monmouth and Ocean County areas. He's been a faithful member of Pilgrim Baptist Church since 1955 where he served on the Senior Usher Board and the Trustee Ministry. He's been a brother/member of the Elks BPOE - Bates Lodge #220 since 1978.

He was predeceased by his wife, Sally Ann Crowder Pritchett, his sisters; Rosie Mae Davis and Eva Lou Wilkerson. He is survived by his daughter, Renee Harris (David), sons Ronald Vickers (Donna) and Chris Walton (Rachel) His grandchildren Stacey Womble (Tinton Falls), Sydney & Jaylen Harris (Neptune) and great grandchildren Malachi & Makayla Smith (Tinton Falls). His sisters; Amanda Austin-Townsend, Lois Wright-Webster, Billy & Bobby Carter from (Wetumpka Alabama), Brenda Sanford (Michael), of Maryland and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Visitation and viewing will be Tuesday January 31st 5-7pm and his service will begin at 7pm at Pilgrim Baptist Church 172 Shrewsbury Ave.
