Barbara Layton Doby

Plainfield

Barbara Layton Doby, a lifelong resident of Plainfield, New Jersey passed away Sunday May 24, 2015 in Syracuse New York. Born the daughter of Allan WycKoff Layton and Lucie Layton and was the granddaughter of former Union County Sheriff B. Frank Coriell.

A graduate of Plainfield High School, Barbara worked for the Courier News and retired from The Mulenberg hospital after over 30 years of service. In retirement she worked for the borough of North Plainfield.

She was a lifetime member of Trinity Reformed Church, the Monday Afternoon Club, Wyckoff Society and the King's Daughters.

Predeceased by her husband John; a brother Allan and her parents. She is survived by her daughter Allison (Tom) Critchfield of Lexington, KY; a son Craig (Diane) Doby of Syracuse; granddaughters Julie Moore and Kaitlin Doby; great-grandchildren Kyle Doby-McNally, Gus and Kate Moore.

Funeral services and burial will be held Monday June 1 in Lake Nelson Memorial Cemetery, Piscataway NJ. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Wyckoff Museum, 5816 Clarendon Rd.
