Charles Kolb Obituary
AGE: 75 ? Old Bridge
Charles F. Kolb Jr., 75, of Old Bridge, passed away Sunday, Feb. 20, 2011 at Reformed Church Home in Old Bridge surrounded by his loving family. Born in Sayreville, he had lived in Spotswood before moving to Old Bridge 44 years ago. Before his retirement, Charles was a cost estimator and civil engineer for many years, lastly with Shoreline Grading and Excavating in West Creek NJ. He was a member of the Laborers' International Union of North America Local 472. He was a US Army Captain, serving during the Vietnam War and a member of the Sayreville American Legion Post 211. Mr. Kolb was a communicant of St. Thomas Church in Old Bridge and a life member of the Knights of Columbus St. Thomas Council 4815.
He is predeceased by his son, Lee in 1967. Surviving are his loving wife of 52 years, the former Frances Szot; his sons, Mark and his wife Peggy of Hamilton, Wayne and his wife Diane of Keansburg, Kirk and his wife Stephanie of Vista CA, Neal and his wife Sonya of Holmdel; his grandchildren, Matthew, Andrew, Zachary, and Abigail; his brother, John and his wife Marie of Newton PA; his sister, Anna Dooling of Plantation FL and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be Friday, 8:15am from the Maliszewski Memorial Home, 121 Main St. Sayreville with a 9am mass to follow at St. Thomas Church in Old Bridge. Burial will take place at New Calvary Cemetery in Parlin. Calling hours at the funeral home will be Thursday from 2pm to 4pm and 7pm to 9pm. The Sayreville American Legion Post 211 will hold services Thursday evening at 7:15pm.
