Chris Metaxas Obituary
AGE: 68 • Manville
Chris Metaxas, 68, passed away suddenly on Friday December 9, 2016 at his home in Manville, NJ.. He was born in Astoria, New York the son of the late Christos and Aretie Metaxas and was a resident of Manville for the past 50 years. Chris became a Master Plumber and started his own business, Metaxas Plumbing and Heating in 1998 in his home town of Manville. Chris loved spending time with his family and friends, and the opportunity to meet new people and places while doing a job that he thoroughly enjoyed, along with his son Derek. He was well known and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Chris was predeceased by his brother Angelos Metaxas. He is survived by his wife Andrea Metaxas and son Derek Metaxas of Manville, NJ, his sister Sophia Ousouljoglou and her husband Antonios of Bridgewater, NJ.
Chris always enjoyed starting his day at the Manville Diner before embarking on a day of plumbing with Derek and usually, around 10:48 at night he would make his way to Drewby's to finish off the day with a cold bud and a little relaxation. He enjoyed taking trips down the shore in the summer and also looked forward to the winter and working on boilers. He was a true master of his craft who took pride in his work and loved making everyone's plumbing and heating problems disappear. Chris was known throughout the area as a trustworthy, reliable person, loved by many and will be missed dearly by friends and family. A generous, caring and loving man who put his family first and work second . He worked hard, but always treated everyone fair. No one could fill his boots the way he did.
The viewing will be on Thursday, December 15, 2016 from 4 to 7 PM at the Ketusky Funeral Home, 1310 Brooks Blvd., Manville, NJ. The Funeral Service will be on Friday December 16, 2016 8:45 AM at the Ketusky Funeral Home followed by a 10:00 AM funeral service at St. Michael the Archangel Ukrainian Catholic Church in Hillsborough, NJ. Burial will follow at St. Bernard Cemetery in Bridgewater, NJ. For additional information please visit our website at www.ketusky.com.

The Cutler family would like to send our condolences. I have only just learned of his passing. I am still in shock, he put my water heater in this past September/November. You could always count on him to help you with any plumbing problem. He will be sadly missed.

To the Metaxas Family:
I was told today 1/26/2017 about Chris and it is so hard to believe. Chris was the go-to guy whenever we had a problem at home. He was kind to my mother (May Leary) and after she passed, he was just as kind to my family. I trusted him implicitly. We are in disbelief that someone so good would be gone so soon. We will miss seeing him at Manville Diner. May God bless his soul. We will pray for your family.
