you can rest in peace now.... you can rest in peace. I will be ok because I know you will always be by my side.

"The best love is the kind that awakens the soul and makes us reach for more, that plants a fire in our hearts and brings peace to our minds, and that's what you've given me. Thats what I hope to give to you forever"

I love you, I'll be seeing you.

February 16, 2012

As you remember this fallen officer, take comfort in recalling that he dedicated his life to the same principles of honor, duty and courage that brought you to the badge. Such a life is truly rich, take strength in knowing that when an officer falls, our resolve to serve those in need is not diminished. Our dedication to protecting those in danger is not weakened. Our commitment to remembering those with whom we shared the badge does not fade.

Godspeed, brother. You fought the good fight. Now rest in peace

Kelly,
Last week 3 coworkers & I participated in the Police Unity Tour along with 1400 riders from around the nation to honor our fallen brothers & sisters that died as Heros. Although I was never privileged enough to have met Chris, I along with most riders from the area rode in his honor. Freehold & Lakewood are but a few miles apart & the reality of it is, Chris was doing what "we" have all done during our tour...working the shift waiting to come home to our families. My heart sits heavy for you & Adam both. Take comfort in knowing that "we" are family & share your sorrows as Chris is an angel, a hero, a brother in blue....Every year will take the ride as a constant reminder of who he is & and what he was. May time heal your pain & strengthen your faith as Chris will always be there to protect you & Adam. God Bless!!

Kelly Walsifer

May 15, 2011

MY Chris,

Adam needs you more than ever. I realize why you never listened to me about what I told you after my Father died. We are trying so hard to be strong for you and what you would want. Nothing will ever bring you back. The DC police memorial wall is beautiful and sad, and I'm looking forward to seeing your name next year and it being on the wall forever because you died a hero. Every year I will go, and every year I will light a candle for you and all the friends we have in blue. You will always be my hero, Adam and I love you. He is a part of MY family now and forever just like he's been for the past 4 years.

I love you, and will forever,
Kelly

February 20, 2011

Chris,
Words can't describe how my biggest nightmare came true. I'm trying so hard to be brave and strong just like you, but at times, I just need you to hold me and tell me I'm going to be ok. I am so glad we were able to make each other so happy in short years, and as hard as it is, I will never love someone the way I love you. You were a chapter in my life and I told thousands of people you were my life and my world and you didn't deserve this. We were so happy and I wanted to grow old with you. I couldn't wait to walk down the aisle and say our vows, but I felt we always vowed to each other even without that stupid piece of paper. Please never leave my side and be my angel forever. I will love you forever, all the days of my life... 'til death do us part.

Always Safe, Extra Safe...
Kelly

To the family and friends of Officer Matlosz. Watching the wake/funeral and all the other footage was an emotional roller coaster. All the responses have been, Chris is in a better place, yes, that is our brain telling us. In Kelly and all Chris's family and friends hearts, I am sure they are thinkng this sucks, he shouldn't be anywhere, but with us. I'm sure there are so many of us that gets frustrated too, because we see, how a community pulled together, so wonderful, but unfortunately, in a few days it will change. If only these feelings could last longer, we would all live in a better world. I did not know Chris, but I do know many of his fellow heroes. These men and women put the lives on the line for us everyday, sometimes without the respect they deserve. I thank you for all you do, and to Officer Matlosz, even though I think that a better place would be for you to be home, I know that you are with God and he must have needed someone as special as you.

Kelly,
I don't know if you will ever see this, but I felt compelled to write to you. The courage and strength you have shown through this awful time in your life is very touching. Every time I see a picture of you, I shed a tear. I feel so sorry for the life you will not have with Chris. However, I hope someday you can take the tragic loss of Chris and move forward and help others. The pose and grace you have shown, I keep thinking, I hope someday she is able to be an advocate in some respect.

Please know, there are so many people thinking of you and Chris. You might not know us, but I think I can say, we all feel a special place in our collective hearts for you and Chris.
